At the May Meetup...

Meet Up in May was a hands-on assist to give a fresh start to a young single mom and her infant daughter. An empty new apartment, return to employment, and first time mothering all impacted the need for additional support and some Need-It-Now help.

Members present filled a large wicker laundry basket with household cleaning supplies, tableware, bedding, and “promissory notes” of transportation to the young lady’s place of employment and day care drop off. In addition a new microwave and a gently used stroller have been provided.

This opportunity to assist was provided to WHTW by way of several Voices For Children’s CASA Advocates.

Celebrating a Fresh Start
Storytelling and Stuff

We have been introduced via Voices for Children to a young single mother who needs include furnishings and homewares for her newly acquired, HUD-approved apartment. She is employed, but without transportation, so VFC and her child’s CASA are looking into the On Ramp charity which donates vehicles.

Can we at WHTW help fill a basket of stuff FOR THE YOUNG LADY – kitchen towels, laundry detergent, kitchen gadget, closet clothes hangers, a small potted plant, office or personal desk supplies, pantry supplies like spices, salt, pepper – at our meeting?

AND…Think about A FRESH START “STORY” of your own or someone you know that you could tell as we add to our basket of stuff whose fresh start we are celebrating. Announcements will precede the Program.

Please RSVP on the Meetup Site or by email as there will be refreshments!
